Artist Statement: This painting resembles LOBO’s first love with abstract work. A busy canvas that catches your attention all over the canvas. It gives the energy of breaking free through the cracks and growing out of these different cracks. The texture on this piece is very immense complimented by the metallic paints giving the canvas more than a few standard colors and it changes throughout the day depending on how the light is depicted on it. This painting is created on a recycled canvas. That is something LOBO has worked for in her work. The reusing of materials and creating something beautiful out of something that was ready for a new story.
