Artist Statement: This serene piece of artwork creates calming depths with the linear brush strokes. The different golds resemble the sunlight beaming of rocks from different directions drawing you into the canvas. The neutral color scheme almost represents the sun slowly rising before it casts upon the earth's surface and repaints the day with all of its vibrant colors. The textural work in this piece pops off the canvas giving the feel of a rough terrain. Each brush stroke creates a layer that is open to the viewer's imagination of what a person would see, just over the river.
