Artist Statement: This first piece created in the neutral collection. This painting captures the essence of a Willow Tree, Laura’s favorite tree. The bursting strokes of color resemble the ever growing process of a willow tree. The vertical brush strokes represent the tree's branches and how it reaches down as if they are helping ground the tree. The oil pastel of black represents the freeing energy that the tree possesses and how each branch will bend in the various directions.
